Choosing an Online Payment System

Choosing Online Payment SoftwareThere are a number of reasons why your business can’t succeed without online payments. If you place your business online, it is absolutely essential to ensure that you have an online payment system where your customers can easily purchase the products and services that you have to offer.

When you set up an online payment system, you will immediately notice a drastic increase in your overall sales. Here are some steps that you will need to take to get this going, as well as some advantages associated with doing this.

Choosing an Online Payment Processing System

Choosing an online payment processing system can be a challenging task. However, it is one that is well worth the time and the effort. When developing your online payment processing system, consider the following:

  1. The very first thing that you have to do is determine how much money that you can budget in each month that will pay for your online payment solution. Many of these systems will require that you pay a startup fee, as well as a monthly maintenance fee. Be certain that you read the complete terms of agreement (the small print) prior to committing to this monthly subscription.
  2. The next thing that you will need to do is calculate how many sales, on average, that your business experiences. This will help you to establish whether you need a simple online payment system or a relatively full featured (robust) system.
  3. When choosing an online payment system for your business, it is absolutely imperative that you make sure the service is PCI Compliant as well as secured protection for your existing as well as potential client base.  Don't ignore this tip - it's important.

Advantages of an Online Payment System

When you have an online payment system for the business that you conduct online, there are a number of advantages. The following outlines why your business can’t succeed without online payments:

  1. Having an online payment system will allow your customers to pay quickly and conveniently without the hassle of paying by check and money order. This means that you are more likely to experience more sales overall. (Also cuts down on returned checks as well as bogus money orders.)
  2. Having this system in place can actually enhance your credibility as an online business.
  3. The speed of the transactions not only satisfies your customers, but it will also increase the speed in which you experience profits as a whole.

Conclusion

As you can see, there are many reasons why you should implement the use of an online payment system. It's vital to the success of your business and it truly helps to work smarter, not harder.

Is it Time For a Shopping Cart?

When you first started your internet based business you were probably introduced to the simplicity of using PayPal ‘buy it now’ buttons to sell products and services from your website.  It’s easy, there’s no cost in setting it up and PayPal is used by a wide range of internet shoppers so it really is a great place to test out a new idea.

Once you launch your product or service and know that you’re going to be selling online long term, it is time to move past PayPal buttons. The main problem is that there is way too much manual work involved in processing payments and communicating with your customer. You need a time saving solution that will set you up for business growth.

wahmcart-shopping-cartYou need a shopping cart with the tools and features that will help you to automate your business, organize your products and services and stay in touch with customers and leads as well.

Most merchants when faced with this realization have some fears about the technology and concerns that they won’t be able to find a shopping cart that blends in well with their existing website. They have visions of complicated scripts with limited abilities for customization. The good news for merchants in business is that they don’t have to go in that direction at all.

A full featured ecommerce shopping cart with all of the necessary tools can be found in Wahmcart. Wahmcart is an ecommerce system for small business owners. It provides a shopping interface that works with any kind of website. As a matter of fact, adding the shopping cart links to your website is a lot like adding PayPal buttons – only even more easy to blend into your theme.

Once you implement a quality shopping cart system into your business you are on your way to being more organized and you’ll waste less time doing things manually. You’ll find that your time can be better spent on money making activities rather than in tedious administrative tasks and customer service follow up because Wahmcart provides you with more than a shopping cart. It includes unlimited autoresponders (mailing lists) and a full fledged affiliate management system.

Got questions about shopping carts?  Feel free to contact me for additional information.

Summertime Struggles: Working at Home When School’s Out

Time ManagementFor kids, summer marks a relaxed, carefree time, devoid of homework and other responsibilities. But for work-at-home entrepreneurs, it can seem virtually impossible to get things done while keeping bored, restless children entertained and stimulated. It can be tempting to play hooky and spend the day at the pool with the kids, but this can easily result in missed deadlines, frustrated clients, and missed revenue. On the other hand, your children deserve to have some dedicated fun time with you during their time off.

How to deal? Here are some tips for striking a healthy balance between summertime fun and what must be done.

  • Get babysitting help. Your kids aren’t the only ones who are out of school. Ask a neighborhood teenager to help out for a few hours a day. (Be sure it’s someone you know well and trust.) You can either disappear into the home office or, if you still can’t get the necessary solitude, pack up the laptop and head to the bookstore or library.
  • Outsource. Consider hiring someone to help with your ecommerce operations during the summer. The memories you’ll make and the peace of mind you’ll enjoy will be well worth the money you’ll spend.
  • Keep a regular schedule. One of the beauties of working at home is the ability to pick and choose your working hours, but kids thrive on structure. Let them know which days and times you’ll be unavailable so they know what to expect. Be sure to set aside some dedicated fun days when work is off limits.
  • Enroll the kids in a summer camp. There are many affordable programs that provide children with plenty of educational fun, while freeing you up to focus on work. Try to spread out the sessions throughout the summer.
  • Trade babysitting time with other work at home friends. This is a great way to help out other home-based entrepreneurs while getting some much-needed work time. Best of all, it won’t cost you a dime!

When working from home, it’s essential to achieve a healthy separation between work time and family time. If you try to do both at once, neither will receive the attention it deserves. The key is planning ahead and using the flexibility to your advantage.
