Keep Your Customers Around Through Checkout
Do you think about the fact that if your customers didn't abandon their shopping cart on your site how much money you “could' be earning? It is definitely something to consider as well as something you should spend some time attempting to remedy.
This phenomenon is called shopping cart abandonment and is basically the act of a shopper placing a product or service into your website's shopping cart but abandoning it before actually completing the purchase, for whatever reason.
There are many reasons for the frequent “shopping cart abandonment” that takes place across the Internet every single day, but the good news is there are just as many ways that you can keep it from happening to you and your coaching business as well.
Here are some things that you can do to help keep your customers at your site make their way right through checkout as a successful purchase and sale for you!
- Include pictures. A thumbnail works best and if possible include a short description. As a coach, you may not always have a photo of a book or tangible item, however, it is always a good idea to remind them of the value behind the product. A picture also helps to reassure the customer that they indeed ordering what they are setting out to order.
- Show shipping and / or other costs. You want to reassure your customers of what they are paying. They don't like incurring any “hidden” costs, so you want to be upfront and open with the costs that they will pay including shipping, handling and any other necessary fees.
- Reassure their security. Potential customers / clients abandon shopping carts due to a feeling of insecurity and because they are worried about their information. Reassure them by including a security seal or guarantee of some type on the pages that they must land out throughout the checkout process.
Doing these simple things can help your customers to feel safe and secure as well as to be encouraged to continue on in the checkout process, resulting in more sales for you.
