Karen Swim: Press Releases that Pop
Have you ever scanned a newspaper or digital news feed when a headline caressed your senses enticing you to read? Or perhaps you had the TV news on as background noise and had your ears tickled by a story lead-in that made you sit up and take notice?
In our information driven world, before we can deliver content we must gain attention. This is the art and science of press release writing. A good press release has a headline that you can “see” in a newspaper or “hear” being spoken by an on air reporter. Your press release should provide the facts (who, what, where, when, why, how) of your news, expertise or event but facts alone will not get you noticed. Those facts will comprise the substance of your release but your story will provide the sizzle.
If your facts sit on the page like a mathematical formula you are unlikely to get the attention you desire. A good story, however, will pull your audience in and get them to take action.
It is my pleasure to have the opportunity to work with the Group Mastery community to turn your news into NEWS! My team of writers and I delight in finding creative angles to highlight your expertise to your target audience. We work with PR agencies, corporations and individuals developing news, marketing and social media releases. We truly are looking forward to serving this delightful community of movers and shakers.
